We all know that having acne-prone skin can cause a lot of inconveniences. One day you could be doing fine and the other day you wake up with an acne breakout and you have no idea what caused it. It could be a certain food, an ingredient in a face wash or just your hormones. Lots of beauty companies these days make lots of spot treatments, anti pimple face masks, acne masks, etc. But do face masks actually get rid of pimples? Well, they can definitely help on a surface level. Today we’re going to tell you about a couple of face masks you can make at home DIY style that can help with acne-prone skin.

1. Turmeric & Honey Face Mask

Turmeric is known for being an anti-inflammatory ingredient in cooking but the same is true when it comes to beauty products. Most of you will have in the spice drawer and you can totally use it to reduce inflammation on your skin. Just mix half a teaspoon of turmeric with 1 tablespoon of honey and spread all over your face. Honey, in turn, will soften and soothe your skin while keeping it moisturized. Leave for 10 minutes and rinse off.

2. Aloe Vera & Matcha Face Mask

Aloe vera gel is incredibly soothing and will help a lot if you have itchy inflamed skin, while matcha will reduce the redness. They’re like a match made in heaven for dry red itchy skin.

Just mix together about 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (it’s even better if you have the plant and can just take the juice straight from the leaf) and 1 teaspoon of matcha powder. You can then put it in the fridge for a couple of minutes for an extra nice cooling effect. You can leave this on for 15 minutes and then wash off and remember to put on moisturizer.

3. Avocado & Honey Face Mask

We know avocado is good for us, in every single way (unless you’re allergic). So putting it in a facemask is a no brainer. It’ll moisturize and soothe your skin while honey will work on plumping it up and making your pores shrink. Honey also has antibacterial properties which is great. You can keep this on your face between 10 and 20 minutes.
